Subject Renewal Group recruitment

Due to teacher movements and other changes in circumstances, some Subject Renewal Groups (SRGs) have experienced some expected attrition. As a result, we are currently inviting teachers – including those who would not typically identify as experts or innovators – to consider joining the following subjects:

  • Language Beginners  - Chinese, French, German, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Modern Greek
  • Language Continuers - French, German, Italian, Spanish and Vietnamese only
  • Information Processing and Publishing
  • Design, Technology and Engineering - Robotics and Electronics Systems context only
  • Earth and Environmental Science
  • Geography
  • Tourism

SRG selection will be based on criteria to maximise the diversity of schools and teachers.

Expressions of interest

Review the Subject Renewal Groups Terms of Reference [PDF 242KB] (including selection criteria) to gain an understanding of the work of the groups and to gauge the level of commitment required to take part. Please also discuss with your school’s leadership team, the level of involvement and time commitment required to participate, so that they can endorse your submission.

Please note that you cannot save and return to the electronic form. A copy of the form is provided within the Terms of Reference document [PDF 242KB] so you can plan your response before submitting.

EOI deadline: 5 pm, Sunday 17 May

You may express interest in more than one subject, however you will only be selected for one.

Subject Renewal Groups

Subject Renewal Groups (SRGs), each focusing on a specific subject area, have been formed to carry out a comprehensive program to review and enhance SACE subjects.

Approaching subject renewal through co-design, the groups will see students and teachers working together to pilot and test proposed changes.

Consistent with the SACE Board’s belief in the power of partnerships and its commitment to co-design, Subject Renewal will be enriched by the learnings and experience of students, and the expertise of teachers and leaders.

Those not selected to be part of the SRGs will have further opportunity to be involved. Active engagement and communication may include:

  • annual sector-wide conferences
  • scheduled opportunities to connect and work with subject renewal groups
  • regular communications and progress updates

Read more about the proposed pace and phases of Subject Renewal for each subject, in the Subject Renewal roadmap.
