2019 Aboriginal Student Pathways Roadshow

The 2019 Aboriginal Student Pathways Conference went on a travelling roadshow for its second consecutive year. We were very excited to work with the three schooling sectors, the South Australian universities and TAFE to take the conference to Port Pirie and Whyalla this year.

Building on the success of the metropolitan Pathways Conference and last year’s Roadshow, 60 Aboriginal students from regional South Australia came together to be inspired to achieve successful outcomes in the SACE and to consider their future study, training and employment pathways.

Students in Years 8 – 12 were treated to inspirational talks by local champions who have a strong connection with the local Aboriginal community and their encouragement and inspiration set the tone for the event before students moved on to a range of hands-on activities and campus tours.

We would like to thanks the following organisations for their support and collaboration in making this event such a great success and supporting greater outcomes from young Aboriginal students.

  • Association of Independent Schools South Australia
  • Catholic Education South Australia
  • Department for Education
  • Adelaide University
  • Flinders University
  • University of South Australia
  • TAFE SA
