The Nutrition practical investigations assessment type is assessed by the school and moderated at Stage 2. Teachers select moderation samples and submit materials online.

Students complete two tasks:

• one design practical investigation
• one investigation with a focus on science as a human endeavour

For the design practical investigation students produce:

• an investigation design that should be a maximum of 3 sides of an A4 page
• an investigation report that should be a maximum of 1500 words if written, or a maximum of 9 minutes for an oral presentation.

Students produce a scientific report of the investigation focusing on Science as a Human Endeavour. This report should be a maximum of 1500 words if written, or a maximum of 9 minues for an oral presentation, or the equivalent in multimodal form.
