Learning and Assessment Plan (LAP) review process to support AI resilience

Step 1: Choose a task which was created for your LAP

Its easiest to choose one which relies on the student completing a written or multimodal product.

Step 2. Test with AI

  • Check with your IT team which AI tool is approved for privacy and compliance. 
  • Paste your task into the AI tool with a prompt 
  • to complete the task as a student.  
  • If you normally provide exemplars to students, including  them with the AI tool will provide a better result.

Step 3: Review the AI output

  • Review the output, and identify which features align with your tasks performance standards and other design criteria.

Step 4: Analyse

List what’s easy for AI: Which parts of the task or criteria were completed well by AI? 

Spot weak points: Which standards are clearly evident,  and which were harder for AI to do well? 

Decide what to redesign: Identify changes to task design and assessment conditions make the task more authentic. 

Step 5: Update Your LAP

  • See: options for creating verifying assessment conditions
  • Use your findings to adapt tasks and conditions for authenticity and integrity.
  • Record changes in your Learning and Assessment Plan (LAP).
  • Communicate expectations clearly to students about what counts as authentic evidence.
