The renewed nationally assessed languages at continuers level will be taught at Stage 1 in 2024, and at Stage 2 in 2025.

Stage 1

Nationally Assessed Languages (continuers) Stage 1 (from 2024)

Stage 1 nationally assessed languages (continuers) are 10-credit subject or a 20-credit subjects 

For a 10-credit subject, students should provide evidence of their learning through five assessments:

Students undertake:

  • one interacting in language task
  • one creating meaning in language task
  • one analysing language task
  • one response in [Language] and one reflective response in English for the investigation.

Each assessment type should have a weighting of at least 20%.

For a 20-credit subject, students should provide evidence of their learning through ten assessments with at least two assessments from each assessment type. The remaining assessments may be undertaken from any assessment type. Each assessment type should have a weighting of at least 20%.
