SACE Board of SA publications are protected under copyright law. Written permission is required if you wish to reproduce its material, except as permitted by the Commonwealth of Australia Copyright Act 1968.

Please submit your request for permission to use SACE Board copyright material in writing, using the application form provided.

South Australian Subject Teacher Associations
The SACE Board wishes to encourage and support South Australian subject teacher associations in their programs for supporting teachers and students of SACE subjects. Please complete the online licence application [DOC].

Be sure to include:

  1. your completed application form [PDF];
  2. a copy of the SACE Board material you wish to use, as it will appear in your intended publication;
  3. a photocopy of the SACE Board material you wish to use as it appears in its original publication, including the title page, imprint page and any acknowledgment pages.

The SACE Board's copyright policy is in addition to the copyright statement of the South Australian Government:

1. Copyright on this website is owned by the Government of South Australia.

2. Copyright in the material included on this website is either owned by or licensed to the Government of South Australia. Copyright in the material provided by the Government of South Australia agencies and instrumentalities and non-government organisations belongs to those agencies and organisations.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can students and teachers copy SACE Board material without permission?
Yes, but only for study purposes and classroom use.

Can I copy documents or parts of documents from the SACE Board website and use them in my own publication, which I intend to distribute?
No. Please download an application form [pdf] to use SACE Board copyright material and send it to the Copyright Officer. Fees may apply. Phone the Copyright Officer if you have any questions.

How long does it take to process a request?
Your request will be answered as quickly as possible, but submit your application early, and allow three to five weeks for processing.

Can the SACE Board give me permission to use material that is acknowledged to somebody else in its publication?
No. You must apply directly to the copyright owner of that material.

Can I place a link on my website to a past examination paper or subject outlines on the SACE Board website?
You may link to the SACE Board website provided you do not link directly to a PDF file, but to the page on which that file is made available. For instance, you should link to the page on which all past examination papers for a particular year appear, where a warning has been placed about copyright implication.
