SACE Board Copyright and Intellectual Property Policy

The SACE Board respects the copyright of others and recognises its responsibilities under the Commonwealth of Australia Copyright Act 1968. SACE Board publications are also protected under the Copyright Act 1968.

The SACE Board's Copyright and Intellectual Property Policy sets out the policy principles and protocols governing the use and reproduction of SACE Board copyright material by others, including the royalties that apply for the use and reproduction of SACE Board copyright material and the circumstances in which royalties may not apply. SA Government Copyright Policy

The SACE Board's Copyright and Intellectual Property Policy is in addition to the copyright statement of the South Australian Government:

1. Copyright on this website is owned by the Government of South Australia.

South Australian Subject Teacher Associations

The SACE Board supports South Australian subject teacher associations in their professional development and learning support for teachers and students of SACE subjects. Please complete the application form [DOC 91KB or PDF 123KB].

Applications are to be submitted along with a copy of the intended publication to the Knowledge Management Officer in either printed or PDF format via the contact details on the application form.

For all other reproduction

Your application should include the following:

1. your completed application form [DOC 91KB or PDF 123KB];
2. a copy of the SACE Board material you wish to use as it will appear in your intended publication;
3. a copy of the SACE Board material you wish to use as it appears in its original publication, including the title page, imprint page and any acknowledgement pages.

Applications are to be submitted to the Knowledge Management Officer in either printed or PDF format via the contact details on the application form.

Frequently asked questions

Can students and teachers copy SACE Board material without permission?

Yes, but only for educational purposes or classroom use.

Can I copy documents or parts of documents from the SACE Board website and use them in my own publication, which I intend to distribute?

No. Please download an application form [PDF 123KB] to use SACE Board copyright material and send it to the Knowledge Management Officer. Fees may apply. Phone the Knowledge Management Officer if you have any questions.

How long does it take to process a request?

Your request will be answered as quickly as possible, but submit your application early, and allow three to five weeks for processing.

Can the SACE Board give me permission to use material that is acknowledged to somebody else in its publication?

No. You must apply directly to the copyright owner of that material.

Can I place a link on my website to a past examination paper or subject outlines on the SACE Board website?

You may link to the SACE Board website provided you do not link directly to a PDF file, but to the page on which that file is made available. For instance, you should link to the page on which all past examination papers for a particular subject appear, where a warning has been placed about copyright implication.
