The SACE Board invites teachers to a professional learning event with leading metacognition and self-regulated learning specialist Dr Shyam Barr, focused on strengthening everyday classroom practice in line with the key drivers [PPTX 1.2MB] for the SACE Board’s program of Subject Renewal

Tailored to a senior secondary context, this session will explore how metacognition and self-regulation support student agency, enabling learners to plan, monitor and evaluate their learning, make informed choices, and take greater ownership of how they demonstrate what they know.

Teachers will engage with practical, research grounded frameworks that build shared professional language, make learning strategies explicit, and promote rich classroom dialogue about thinking and learning.

Designed to support teachers preparing for renewed SACE subjects, this session will equip educators with clear, classroom ready approaches that foster purposeful, reflective and independent learners, while maintaining disciplinary rigour.

Join colleagues from across the sector and deepen your understanding of metacognition, self-regulation and student agency as foundations for the future SACE.

BOOKINGS CLOSE 20 MAY.
