Encroachment

The front of the mullet dress represents nature as it is made from real pressed leaves and rose petals, hand sewn onto a netting base. The back of the dress, however, represents pollution and is made from burnt, ripped and shredded black plastic that falls to the floor. Around the sides of the dress, the pollution starts to take over nature, slowing seeping into the layered leaves, and causing them to turn brown and die. The plastic comes up to the neck, where it creeps around, slowly 'strangulating' the wearer herself
