How to apply
Applying is simple. Complete the online application form and tell us a little about yourself, your experiences as a student, and why you would like to be involved.

We are interested in hearing your perspective, so there are no right or wrong answers. We encourage you to be yourself and share your experiences honestly.
To apply, complete the online expression of interest form. Applications close on Sunday 23 August 2026.
Eligibility
To apply for the Young Ambassadors Program, you must:
- Be enrolled in year 10/11 at a South Australian school
- Be willing and available to participate in program activities throughout the year
- Be interested in sharing your experiences and perspectives as a student
- Be willing to engage with your peers and gather their perspectives
- Have support from your parent/caregiver and your school
Keeping the program safe
As part of participating in the Young Ambassador program, you'll need a Working with Children Check. This is a routine requirement that helps organisations provide safe and supportive experiences for young people.
The good news is that the check is free for volunteers, and we'll support you every step of the way. We'll provide clear instructions, answer any questions you have, and help make the process as easy and straightforward as possible.
Selection criteria
Selection will be based on both the information provided in applications and the need to create a cohort that reflects the diversity of students across South Australia.
When reviewing applications, we will consider:
- Your interest in the program and motivation to participate
- Your ability to reflect on and share your experiences as a student
- Your willingness to listen to and represent the perspectives of others
- How you share your ideas, experiences and perspectives
- The diversity of experiences and perspectives represented across all applications
We are committed to creating a cohort that reflects a broad range of student experiences and perspectives. This may include consideration of factors such as school sector, geographic location, cultural background, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander representation, disability and neurodiversity, socioeconomic background, and future aspirations or pathways.
You do not need top grades, leadership experience, or previous experience to be selected. We are looking for students who are interested in sharing their perspectives, listening to others, and making positive contributions.
