SACE Record of Achievement (ROA) and SATAC Tertiary Entrance Statement (TES) FAQs
Currently, students receive a SACE Certificate if they have completed the SACE, a SACE Record of Achievement (ROA) and, if eligible, a SATAC Tertiary Entrance Statement (TES) in hard copy. From the end of 2025, students who complete the SACE will continue to receive their SACE Certificate in hard copy, but the ROA and TES will be available digitally only via SACE Students Online to be downloaded and printed as needed.
What is the SACE Certificate, SACE Record of Achievement, and SATAC Tertiary Entrance Statement?
The SACE Certificate is issued by the SACE Board and is awarded to students who successfully complete their SACE. This document will continue to be issued and sent in hard copy.
The Record of Achievement is a detailed transcript, issued by the SACE Board, of a student’s SACE subject results including recognised learning such as VET (Vocational Education and Training), community learning, or university studies that contribute to the SACE.
The Tertiary Entrance Statement, issued by SATAC, shows a student’s scaled scores for Stage 2 SACE subjects and, if eligible, their university aggregate and Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR).
Why is the ROA being issued digitally only from 2025?
The decision to issue the ROA digitally only from 2025 responds to student feedback indicating a preference for digital documentation, aligns with the broader shift towards digital credentials, and reflects the SACE Board’s commitment to environmental sustainability.
How can students access a printed copy of the ROA if required?
Students can download and print their ROA from SACE Students Online.
Are the ROA and TES available on SACE Students Online official documents?
For students who complete the SACE, or are resulted in a Stage 2 SACE subject or granted recognition, from 2025 onwards, the ROA and TES available on SACE Students Online will be official documents that can be saved and shared digitally, as well as downloaded and printed.
Can reprints of the ROA still be requested for students who completed their SACE prior to 2025?
Yes, students who completed their SACE prior to 2025 can order replacement copies of their results through our website. Students can also continue to access results from previous years via SACE Students Online.
What if a student requires their ROA and/or TES to apply for tertiary study?
Students applying for tertiary study in Australia through a tertiary admissions centre, such as SATAC, will not need to provide documentation of their senior secondary results as they can be accessed electronically based on the SACE registration number entered in their application.
Students applying directly to a tertiary institution in Australia can provide digital copies of their results as part of the application process.
Students applying for tertiary study overseas can also download their results from SACE Students Online and provide them digitally or in hard copy. If a certified copy is required, or a copy sent directly from the SACE Board to an overseas institution, please contact askSACE.
What if a student requires their ROA and/or TES for an employer or service provider organisation?
Students can download their results from SACE Students Online and provide them digitally or in hard copy to employers or service provider organisations.
How can students without a device and/or internet access receive their results?
SACE Students Online can be accessed using a range of devices, including computers and smartphones. If a student does not have a device and/or internet access, they may be able to use a school device and/or internet to access SACE Students Online. If this option is not available, we recommend contacting askSACE for assistance.
