Stage 1 | Assessment Type 2: Issues Study

Stage 1
Assessment Type 2: Issues Study

School assessment

The Legal Studies issues study is assessed by the school.

For both a 10-credit subject and a 20-credit subject students undertake at least one issues study.

Students inquire in some depth into a current legal issue. It should be an issue that students can follow over a 2-week period.

The issues study could be presented in a written, oral, or multimodal form. Whatever form is chosen, there should be evidence of research, including a relevant media article. The issues study should be a maximum of 1000 words if written or a maximum of 6 minutes for an oral presentation, or the equivalent in multimodal form.

Student work should be their own. See Supervision and verification of student work.
