Assessment Insider case studies
Case studies are summarised versions of the papers submitted by Certified Educational Assessor (CEA) graduates as their major assessment piece, which forms part of their certification. Participants who successfully complete the case study may be eligible to apply for recognition of prior learning (RPL) towards a Graduate Certificate or Masters degree.

The case study provides an opportunity for participants of the CEA course to critically reflect on teaching, learning and assessment practices in their context. Participants are encouraged to address an issue of educational assessment that is relevant to them and to engage in an action research process. A key part of conducting the case study is the collection and examination of a 4,000 word folio of qualitative and quantitative evidence, as well as the provision of a 1500-2000 word report.
Summarised versions of the full case study reports are selected by the IEA marking panel for inclusion in Assessment Insider, with the author's permission, and published as examples of educators implementing emerging practice in the real world and in real time.
Copyright in the case studies remains with the authors.
