Assessment Type 3: Language Study

The Australian Languages — Additional Language language study is assessed externally. Materials should be submitted online for marking by late October (Round 3).

Students complete one language study, which consists of two parts:

  • Part 1: Language Study
  • Part 2: Review

Students may present their language study primarily in the chosen language, in English, or a combination of both in written, oral, or multimodal form. It should be no more than 6 minutes if presented orally, the equivalent in multimodal form or 1200 words if written.

Student present their review in English. It should be no more than 2 minutes if presented orally, the equivalent in multimodal format or 300 words if written.

Student work should be their own. All externally assessed investigations must be verified by a teacher. See Supervision and verification of student work.
