Governor of South Australia Commendations

There are three types of Governor of South Australia Commendations presented to students each year:

  • Governor of South Australia Commendation
  • Governor of South Australia Commendation — Aboriginal Student SACE Award
  • Governor of South Australia Commendation — Excellence in Modified SACE Award.

Governor of South Australia Commendation

Students can achieve a Governor of South Australia Commendation in one of two ways:

  1. Excellence in 90 credits of Board-accredited subjects (including Research Project A or Research Project B
  2. Excellence in the development of one or more SACE capabilities, including the equivalent of an A (A+, A, A–) in 70 credits of Stage 2 subjects or courses, including Research Project A or Research Project B).

Schools are invited to nominate one student from their school for a Governor of South Australia Commendation. Nomination forms for 2017 will be available in Term 3.

Nomination form exemplars

Governor of South Australia Commendation — Aboriginal Student SACE Award

This commendation is awarded to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander student with the best overall performance in the SACE (and who has undertaken the majority of his or her studies in a South Australian school).

Governor of South Australia Commendation — Excellence in Modified SACE Award

This commendation is awarded to a student with identified intellectual disabilities who demonstrates outstanding achievement through SACE modified subjects.

Schools are invited to nominate one eligible student from their school. Nomination forms for 2017 will be available in Term 3.
