Online results

How do I access my results online?

You can access your results by logging in to Students Online using your SACE registration number and PIN.

If you have forgotten your PIN, fill out this online form and the SACE Board will reset it to your date of birth (DDMM).

On the day results are released, resetting PINs may take a few hours, so it pays to make sure you can log in before the day. We recommend you do this as soon as possible.

  • any SACE credits you have been granted for recognised learning at Stage 2 in areas such as Vocational Education and Training (VET), community learning and university studies.

If you completed a Stage 2 subject before 2011, your results are shown as a Subject Achievement Score out of 20 and a grade in the range A to E. These will also list units instead of credits – one unit is equal to 10 credits.

If you nominated a title for your Research Project, this will also be listed on your Record of Achievement.

Your Stage 1 results show:

Results questions

Was my special provisions application taken into account when my results were calculated?

If your application was sent to the SACE Board and approved, your school would have received acknowledgment and the approved procedure would have been followed.

If I get an A+ in a subject, do I get a subject merit?

Not necessarily. Not all students who receive an A+ will get a subject merit – you also need to have demonstrated exceptional achievement in the subject, as determined by a selection panel. You will know if you have gained a merit in a subject as it will be reported on your Record of Achievement as: ‘A+ with Merit’.

Students who receive a subject merit will be invited to attend the SACE Merit Ceremony at Government House in February.

Further education

What is SATAC?

SATAC processes applications for admission to university and TAFE in SA and the Northern Territory.

Information about the way in which your SACE results will be used for entry to university and TAFE SA in 2012, including examples of the calculations and information about scaling, can be found at the SATAC website.

Information about the calculation of the university aggregate, ATAR and the TAFE SA Selection Score, as well as the entry requirements for individual university courses, can be found in the Tertiary Entrance booklet covering entry for the years 2012, 2013 and 2014, which is also available from the SATAC website.

What is the ATAR?

This information is provided by SATAC.

Your Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) is an indication of how well you have performed relative to other students and is derived from your university aggregate. Your ATAR is the rank that describes the position of your university aggregate relative to that of other students.

All Australian states and territories (except Queensland) consider Year 12 students on the basis of the ATAR. The ATAR is reported as a number between 0 and 99.95.

Will my results get me into university?

The likelihood of your results leading to a university offer depends on whether you are eligible for the courses for which you have applied and on how competitive your results are compared to other applicants for those courses.

All courses have a quota, or maximum number of places that can be offered each year. Most undergraduate university courses also have sub quotas for applicants with different types of qualifications (e.g Year 12, TAFE/VET level study, higher education study, special entry test results). Sub quotas ensure that groups of applicants with similar qualifications compete against each other and not against applicants with different qualifications.

To be eligible to be considered for entry to a course in the Year 12 sub quota you will need to have an ATAR and meet any prerequisite subject requirements for the course. Some courses may also have other requirements such as interviews, auditions or the submission of a portfolio as criteria for eligibility.

If you’ve completed the requirements for an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) it will be listed on your Tertiary Entrance Statement. More information can be found in the SATAC booklet, Tertiary Entrance 2012, 2013, 2014, available on the SATAC website.

What is the TAFE SA Selection Score?

This information is provided by SATAC.

Your TAFE SA Selection Score is used as the basis for selection to most Certificate IV and higher level courses at TAFE SA. It is calculated from the best 60 credits of Tertiary Admissions Subjects (TAS) and/or Recognised Studies. The calculation considers every allowable combination of your results to give you the best possible score. The maximum TAFE SA Selection Score is 60.0.

TAFE SA uses alternative selection scores for entry to Certificate I, II and III level courses. These are also based on your SACE results but are not reported as part of your Tertiary Entrance Statement.

Will my results get me into TAFE SA?

The likelihood of your results leading to a TAFE SA offer depends on whether you are eligible for the courses for which you have applied and on how competitive your results are compared to other applicants for those courses.

To be eligible to be considered for entry you will need to meet at least one of the Minimum Entry Requirements (MER) for the course.

If you’ve completed the requirements for a TAFE SA Selection Score, it will be listed on your Tertiary Entrance Statement. More information can be found in the SATAC booklet, Tertiary Entrance 2012, 2013, 2014, available on the SATAC website.
