Membership and Expressions of Interest

Groups are comprised of suitably qualified people within the education community and consist of up to 10 experts in the area of study, including:

  • at least six teachers from the schooling sectors (at least four teachers from the Department of Education and Children's Services, one teacher from AISSA, and one from the Catholic Education Commission/Office)
  • one person nominated by Northern Territory Department of Education and Training
  • at least one person from the vocational education and training sector
  • at least one person from the higher education sector
  • Chief Assessor (ex officio) and two other assessors/moderators
  • Subject Teachers' Association (where relevant)
  • Curriculum Services Officer, Office of the SACE Board of SA (Executive Officer).

Terms of Reference

Curriculum leaders groups:

  1. provide expert advice and direction to the SACE Board on matters relating to the learning area or subject outline, including national and international trends (subject expert advice)
     
  2. contribute to the development of subject-specific support materials, e.g. drafting of subject-specific exemplars (annotated work samples) with reference to  performance standards; refinement of performance standards; development of other support materials that reflect the diversity of students' needs and interests (development of support materials)
     
  3. contribute to the professional learning of teachers in subject-specific areas of study (e.g. preparation and presentation of subject-specific learning in preparation of learning and assessment plans, development of capabilities, assessment using performance standards, training of moderators and assessors) (professional learning of teachers)
     
  4. assist the SACE Board in its delivery of its subject-specific curriculum and moderation services (e.g. subject-specific training in assessment, clarification of standards workshops, capabilities, performance standards) (curriculum and moderation services)
     
  5. provide expert advice and direction to the SACE Board on integration of Australian Curriculum in particular subjects in the SACE.
